Who We Are
At Fountainhead Homes, we believe that the first step to providing quality preventative care is to understand and recognize who each of our residents is—as a whole, three-dimensional person. Diagnoses and detailed health histories give us the information we need to assess two of those dimensions. But to truly deliver highly effective, personalized care, we need to know about the “third dimension” as well—that is, what makes each of our residents unique, what makes them tick. And we consider it a top priority to do so.
To develop a care plan that works, we are committed to getting to know the unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents. This means getting to know their individual backgrounds and preferences: their lifelong routines, loved ones, work and educational histories, spiritual lives, skills, hobbies, and much more. It also means getting to know the smallest of details, like whether it should be sunny-side-up or hard-boiled, comedy or drama, or jazz, easy listening, or rock-and-roll. It all matters.
At Fountainhead Homes, we appreciate the privilege to serve, and we welcome the opportunity to learn and grow from our residents. Every person’s health journey is different. We want to know how each of our residents thinks and feels, what their preferences are, and where and when certain activities fit into the daily rhythms of their lives.
At Fountainhead Homes, we are devoted to delivering exceptional care, tailored to the unique and evolving needs of each of our residents. This commitment is at the heart of everything we do, and involves compassion, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of healthcare excellence. Every day, we push the boundaries of what works, who we are, and who we can be. Our residents – all members of the Fountainhead family – deserve nothing less.
How Fountainhead Homes was born
Our union was unlikely coming from different parts of the country; but our mutual interests were the links that led to more than a marriage. Joe spent many years in an out of school doing missionary work and community outreach within the United States, and also performed direct care in a management capacity for complex health settings. Despite other professional and self-owned business experiences, the draw to connect with “others in need” remained paramount. Ruth completed her studies and began a path of business and management in a variety of settings which led to an understanding of many state and federally funded Programs. Ruth had family in the field of Healthcare who exposed her to complex physical and mental health diagnoses at an early age. Thus, the union of Joe and Ruth personally led to a very natural opening of their first Fountainhead Home caring for 13 residents in 2000. We were honored to have the privilege to serve our residents in such an intimate setting, allowing us to KNOW our residents and their families so well. We had found what we had both been looking for. A place where our children could grow, bond and learn; and our family could connect to gifted staff who shared the same mission to serve. Our family is now Fountainhead Homes.
Fountainhead Homes’ Vision
Fountainhead Homes welcomes the opportunity to serve members of our communities who are most in need. We understand that residents’ needs are not uniform; they are as unique as the individual. That’s why we focus on the personality, value, and dignity of each resident so that we can tailor our personalized care to the whole person. Our homes are beautiful intimate settings that inspire warmth and comfort. But at the heart of what we offer is exceptional, uncompromising care. Each of our residents is part of the Fountainhead family, and we are dedicated – without limit – to their health and wellbeing.
